Just wanted to update a little bit. I'm meeting a very handsome 7 month old male on Sunday. Owner has an immediate job transfer to Hawaii and can't keep him (or his littermate). He's got all the basics down, including crate training and being housebroken. He is apparently a bit on the lazy side, which, considering we live in an apartment, isn't the worst thing in the world!
Keep your fingers crossed for us, he sounds perfect

Good luck! Sorry for the late response here but I also think you'd make a great owner! My GSD was super easy to train and as long as I reinforce the recall with great treats or a quick game of tug he never gave me issues with the recall and was wonderful off leash.
The great thing about Shepherds is that as long as their physical and mental needs are met they'll just hang out around the house quietly waiting for the next fun task, at least that's what mine does and we live in a 1-bedroom NYC apartment. Just like others said, my dog slowly started disliking the dog park but I've found nooks and crannies in brooklyn where I can take him for a quick game of fetch and tug until he's 18 months and I'll start getting him used to jogging / rollerblading with me so it actually works out great if you are an active person. Anyway, good luck! I'm sure you'll be great owners |

I love to hear when someone has rescued a retired racehound! I fostered a beautiful girl myself last year
She got transported up north and I hear she has a wonderful home Good luck with the adoption!
