I am crazy about my dogs. I spend more time with them than I do my family. I spend more money on them than I do on myself. I live with them closely in my house and seldom go anywhere that they can not go. I don't take vacations because they can not all come along. Really, I think most of my family thinks there must be psychiatric diagnosis for me!

I do have an inordinate obsession with my dogs. In our particular society, I think it most advantageous to both my dogs and myself, for me to remain known as their "owner". Otherwise, I might lose what enjoy most.

Even today my town is looking into mandatory spay and neuter. Ugh.

I agree.^^

From A legal standpoint, I would want to be classified as an owner. Pet guardian sounds like something a PETA nutjob would dream up so that some day all the dogs could be freed from the oppression of pet ownership!

Just between my dog and I, he's simply a member of the family.

I'm lucy's owner, but most of all, she's family.

I am all of the above.

I am a "Pet Parent" because I love my animals to death, I do not want "real" children therefore my animals are my children, there is nothing that I wont do for them. I make sure they eat better than me, I buy them toys instead of buying myself things, I take them to the Vet more than I take myself to the doctor. My life revolves around them, I take my dog everywhere with me.

I am a "Pet Guardian" because I would protect them from anything, I would risk my life to keep them safe. I have a back up plan in case something were to happen to me, I know where all of them would end up and I know those people would take great care of them for me.

I am a "Pet Owner" because it is my job and my responsibility to train them and keep them from creating chaos in the world. I make sure they can function in public without creating a disturbance. I make sure they are "model citizens"
