I have a extra wide pink buckle nylon coller on Bella now.(Don't like the snap kind don't think there as safe if a dog suddenly comes to the end of a leash ) and when she's older and done growing I like the heart breaker or something simalar from paco leather collars. But I doubt it would stay that pretty for long lol and she does were her collar all the time. All our dogs do never had a problem.

I LOVE Stillwater. Shane is a great guy, the collars, prices, and the quality are awesome.

Bochini pet Designs are also great, they have more 'pretty' collars than Stillwater, higher priced but also very well made.

I have 5 collars and leashes for Tater. I kinda went overboard on them, but every time I went online or to a store, I'd find something new I liked.

His ID tag is blue so I get collars that would match that. I spend a little too much on them though, but Bella Bean and Barker & Meowsky collars are just too cute to pass up.

Even with the blue collars, people always think he's a girl...sigh haha.

mrezkill, I told my hubs you named your dog Tater and he loved it. This coming from a man that wanted to name our new GSD MALE puppy, Bunny *sigh* Still, Tater is a great name!

I went a little nuts when it was only Argos and Anka. I bought collars seasonally and Argos would get the "boy" collars and Anka'd get the "girl" collars. Ex. For summer Argos had green palm trees and pink flamingos, back to school, Argos had Blue plaid and Anka had pink plaid.

Now, collars are usually stainless prongs for training or whatever I can get that's handy, when I take them out. Everyone's microchipped and tattooed and truly I don't worry much about them getting loose and needing their tags. I carry copies of all their vet paperwork in my car anyway.

I love buying collars so I have a bunch of them, I just buy ones I like the looks of. I prefer leather but for at home I usually buy some type of soft fabric collar so the dogs will be comfortable. My Golden had a berber fleece collar, Bianca has a White Pines collar which is made of extra-soft material that is supposed to be for show dogs (won't break the coat.) It is purple because I was hoping people would then realize she was a girl when they saw it but she is still called "he" while wearing that.
I also have a Paco Collars leather collar I usually use for when we go places.
Generally the width depends on what looks best on the dog. My Golden used a 1" wide collar but for my terrier I used skinny collars because wider ones made him look like he had no neck. I generally used rolled leather for him until I found a nice Paco Collars one made for a cat which was like 1/4" wide. Bianca's Paco collar is 1.5" because the style I wanted only comes in that width, and her neck is long enough that a wide collar looks ok.
