Young dogs unloading on trainer during training.

Anyone else's young dogs unload on them while training with toys. I use their toys to amp them up then we'll do some focused heeling then they get the toy for a reward. They are usually OK. However, if I make one too many teases with the toy they will unload on me. Meaning they get amped up and have to bite something. Which since their already lunging towards me with the toy in my hand they unload on me. No big deal. I just wear my car hart it takes the brunt of it. I know at some point they will learn to wait until the toy is offered to unload. But in the meantime bloody hands and bruises are a normal part of our training. Good times.

Some times it's just the dog going for the toy and plain missing the toy and connecting to me.

Unless I wear gloves I get banged up pretty good when we're playing and goofing around. When we train the toy is kept out of sight.

When Bud was young it was not at all uncommon for him to flat out turn on me. Like when the helper was baiting him he would suddenly just turn around and lay into me. I learned to be quick and he did eventually stop that.
Shadow just had bad aim and still does. Lol. No real intent but I get smacked with teeth often. Gloves are good.
