Protective GSD

Hi, new poster here. I am having trouble with my GSD.

I'll give you some background to begin with - we have two dogs, a 3yo Female GSD and an 8yo Female Husky. The husky moved in about 1.5 years ago. The Husky is my partners dog and the GSD is mine. The two dogs have fought a few times and have been okay for the last 6 months without fighting.

Lately, when my female partner goes to pat her husky, the gsd will drop whatever she is doing and rush towards the husky and puts herself between my partner and the husky. My partner gets scared thinking they will fight. The husky growls and her fur goes up, whilst the GSD just circles the husky in a dominate manner. In addition, the GSD doesn't let the husky into a bedroom whenever my partner and I are both in the room, rushing towards the door when the husky comes to the door.

I can pat both dogs at the same time and nether dog does anything silly. My partner is starting to get scared and we need some help. Thanks
