Hello- I've come here for more help on our 2 year old female rescue, Faith.
We have issues with confinement (she escapes everything) but we've kept her confined to the basement and she seems to be ok... other than pooping in the same spot of the basement, regardless of what we do with her.
Now here is my question about biting- We have a son (5) and daughter (2). Recently, my son was jumping on the couch and Faith began barking at him (first time actually barking loud) and scared my son. We explained to him he can't jump and get the dog excited, etc. Then my son was climbing back on the couch and the dog grabbed his leg with this mouth. I'm not sure if she was going to bite him or what she was doing? She has grabbed my arm and my husbands arm when we are playing with her before but never the kids. THEN this morning my daughter was climbing out of our bed and the dog grabbed her leg in the same manner as she did my son. I immediately corrected the dog and told her that was not OK. She stopped and walked away. The dog doesn't seem aggressive when she does it, i'm just not comfortable with her putting their leg or arms in her mouth.
Is this normal behavior? Should we continue to just correct her? or is this aggressive behavior?
Additionally- Faith does not let us pet her. She will come around and let us pet her as she walks by but she does not sit and let us love on her. Is this something that will come with time when she begins to trust us?
