4 year old GSD suddenly pooping in house

Hello all...I haven't posted in quite some time but am here again because my shepherd has started a new behavior that has my jaw dropping. So to make a long story short Chobahn has a new sister...a 6 month old chocolate lab named Penny...that has been with us since December of 2013. Anywho her house training has been a NIGHTMARE!!!! Nothing like chobahn...he literally trained in less than a week...but anyway, we have been battling her bad potty behavior for quite some time now and all of a sudden he has started pooping in the house. He has NEVER been this way before. EVER. We are wondering if he is regressing bc of the puppy? But also we are wondering if he's doing it to just fill his belly...as gross as that sounds he's always been a poop eater if left up to his own devices. The reason I say this is bc he lived with my parents for the past year and packed on some pounds so we have cut his food a bit. If I left any details out just ask...it's hard to type all this out on an iPhone when there are so many factors going into this situation. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Take him and a stool and urine sample to the vet. It could be a UTI or some sort of parasite.

It could be that he sees the fuss made over the puppy when she has a wreck so he is seeking attention. But a vet visit is a good idea to rule out a health issue.

I think the vets secretly give the dogs a cut when they do things like this...

I know that one of Jean's dogs started pooping in the house and it turned out to be a UTI. That's why I mentioned it.
