Unhappy VERY High Energy Dog(Non GSD)

Well I have Batman back in my care, my dad could not handle him. I'm hoping to get him some training and manners so my dad will take him back. Nothing gets this dog tired. He weighs 46 pounds and eats like a pig. He is a greyhound/husky and boy can he run and jump. He is all over the place. I gave him a knuckle bone with the hopes that mentally does the trick . Long brisk walks don't work for him at all, it makes him more energized. I'm getting him into very basic obedience because he knows nothing at just over a year. Any ideas on how to tire him out? I need to think out of the box for this one

We use a treat dispensing ball for our 9 month old puppy. He noses it all over the house for a half hour :-)

A knuckle bone and speed walking wouldn't tire 99% of dogs out. That isn't what I'd consider exercise.....

A treadmill and tracking usually does the trick if the dog is actually very high energy

After basic OB, maybe agility class? And is he old enough to take for a run? I'm starting to ride my mountain bike with Jedda, and half an hour is about all it takes to knock her out for a few hours. Good luck!

Tracking wouldn't appeal to him and I just threw out my treadmill

He's all running dog (Grey and Husky) - get him out RUNNING. Use a lung whip with a toy on the end. Teach him to run next to a bicycle.

Here is the dangers of a wire crate. He has been digging frantically for a half hour.

I'm now going to get a hard plastic kennel

I'm going to check out the toys that I can launch at a distance. He has severe anxiety.
