Do your pups 'copy' you?

Zeeva has observed me use a large fluffy blanket on the carpet and I think? now she uses it too. She may just find it comfy--I don't know--but I feel like she snuggles in it because she observes me doing it...She usually only plays with or shows interest in the stuff that I show interest in unless it's food.

Do your GSDs or any of your other dogs consciously 'copy' you? How so? Or do you think dogs don't have the capacity for this type of mimicry?

My dog definitely mimics
When I get home from work, I'll occasionally hear the doorknob rattling before I put my key in to unlock it.
It's because Discoe understands that the doorknob opens the door, and is trying to open it the way she's seen me open the door many times.

Also, if I take her puzzle toy and move some of the pieces around with my hand, she'll take her paw and do the same (or try, at least. She just haphazardly ends up slapping things around).

My dog will mimic me when I sigh. So funny, it normally happens within seconds of me doing it. I wouldn't have noticed it except that I did it twice and so did she. Crazy girl!
