Good or bad?

The trainer we are working with said to start really working on playing with the tug. We got one made of fire hose and she is crazy with it (i think in a good way).

We were hiking & found this tire swing and started playing with it like it was a giant tug. It took her awhile to get the swing of it () and she spent a half hour swinging by it/attacking it. I had to drag her away from it. Is this ok? It seems like a big leap from a little tug?

It took me longer to figure out how to add these pictures than it took her to figure out the tire swing :mad::blush::blush::mad:

oh my god, the last picture LOL.
looks like so much fun :)
I see nothing wrong with it as long as she didnt ruin someones swing ;)

Looks like she had fun! I can't see anything wrong either as long as she didn't destroy it lol. I think some dogs in our house would love to try something like that.

Those are great pictures - she sure is having fun! :)

The only thing I'd worry about is if the tire has wire in it, and damages her teeth. But I don't know anything about those tires.

Looks like she's having fun. I say go for it. The power of tug

lol... I wasn't too concerned about the swing, it's on National Forest so I figure it doesn't exactly belong to anyone.

I was just wondering if it is too early to learn this behavior, she is 10 1/2 months. The trainer just started working on her with the tug. This seemed sorta similar except it was much bigger & she was airborne.

I wouldn't let her hang too much.

Most well informed people that spring pole train advise keeping all 4 feet on the ground most of the time until the dog is physically mature.

I would also talk to the trainer about if he thinks it is going to get in the way of training.

Spring pole is a blast though! Love the pics :)
