Constantly Pees in Crate
I have a 4 month old male GSD who WILL NOT stop peeing in his crate! We have been working on crate training him since he was 10 weeks old. However, he is still peeing in his crate every day! He is only in his crate a maximum of 2.5 hours a day, it is sectioned off so he does not have any extra room, covered with a blanket to make it his den, he has plenty of kong toys, he does not get any water the morning he goes in, and he is well exercised. In addition, every time he pees in there, I make sure to clean the crate thoroughly so he does not continue to smell his urine and think it is acceptable behavior. I have no idea what else we can do for him. We've tried everything. We moved his crate down into our furnished basement so it is cooler for him with less noise from the street, and we also leave the TV on for him for comfort. Nothing seems to work for our little pup. He has no problem going into his crate either; he is more than willing to walk right in in the morning when we leave for work.
Also, he does not sleep in his crate at night. He sleeps on his dog bed in our bedroom. He has never had an accident during the night, so I know he is able to hold it longer than a couple hours. Any help/suggestions is much appreciated, I have no idea what else to do for him!
