Default Taking her up on her challenge...

I began hand-feeding her, today. Every mouthful, she had to ask by looking at me rather than the bowl. Took about 5 mouthfuls. After a bit, she settled into a rhythm...for about 5 minutes. Then she casually got up, drank some water, then came back and thought I was going to forget that 'I' was feeding her.

After my caution sound, she backed up, gave this great, long-suffering sigh, and resigned herself to being hand-fed.

For her evening meal, she sat and searched my face.

I thought it was interesting to watch her process the new rule. I could see her frustration. Then she tried to trick me into giving her more food by asking for more before finishing what I'd already given her.

New rules for play, as well.
