2 yr old chasing light/reflections

My 2 year old loves to chase moving reflections on the ground from shiny objects. He will see a moving reflection on the ground from a somebody's watch, bracelet or other reflective surface, and go nuts. He chases it like a cat chasing a laser dot. When the reflection stops,he will paw at it? What can I do curb this behavior? Thanks for any suggestions!

Redirect him with a toy as soon as he starts chasing the reflection. Teach him an alternative behavior that will not encourage the OCD behavior he's exhibiting.

leash him and walk away from the reflection.

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried redirection with a toy, and it works most of the time. I'll have to bring the toy with me, and work on it more.
Thank you for the feedback!:D

Yes, you should work on this now before it gets worse. Be sure you never play with him with a laser light. I have heard that the laser light can be the cause of this behavior starting. Playing with a laser light will make it much, much worse. I hear that cats can play with them without problems, but I have heard of many dogs with OCD behaivors after playing with laser lights

What "toy" are you redirecting him with??
If you have played with a laser toy in the past and/or do now, it may be near impossible to break the light chasing.

My dog has a bit of OCD and will chase lights/shadows/reflections as well. I gave always redirected him to something else when I see him start. Now I can tell him to leave it, and he will walk away.
