I did that and got a male. My male was already good with other males and the female a bit female agressive and like the boys. Cyra died of hemangio about 7 months after I got Beau but they all got along great.

Beau and Grim don't get to play though due to a back injury for Grim but they get along - I just have to keep them from playing.

I like males more than females but my next dog will be a female once Grim is gone and Beau is older.

I just get what I want, which are males. I'd rather take the risk that I might have to separate and manage later on than get a female with the *guarantee* that I will have major issues separating during heat cycles (because of how small the house is and the long periods DH and I work, I'd probably have to board an intact female in heat).

I prefer males so my possible 3rd dog will most likely be a male. Either way I can't win. If the males didn't get along at least they're equal enough in size to *hopefully* not kill each other until I can separate them. If females didn't get along well... Pookie would be a goner from the get go.

I would only have one female at a time most likely. Rogues already pretty dominant. And honestly I prefer males anyways.
