I will be getting my first GSD pup in April. We are so thrilled
![]() In the mean time I have a 1yr old Aussie who of course has to be run hard and worked with every day. He is a lovable bundle of energy. Here is the problem. After our run in the afternoon and he has eaten and we have eaten and are settled in the house for the night, He will just wander around the house. He has toys that he will roll around with and chew on. But when he gets bored with toys he won't lay down and relax. I will make him stay on his bed but every 10 min or so he will pace around. So I let him outside where he will just lay beside the glass door and just watch us very peacefully .. not begging to come in,.. just watch us. Is it because he loves being outside more than in the house? When our puppy gets here in April, we want her to be in the house too. What else can I do to help him chill

I have two aussies
Granted they are seniors now, 12 & 13, but I swear they still act like 7 year olds, very active even tho they are up their in age![]() When my female was younger, my gosh, I thought she'd NEVER grow up and settle, but she did, and I'm sure yours will to! Especially having a buddy, my aussies really compliment my german shepherds ![]() To chill him out at night, altho it sounds like he just likes being outside watching the world go by ,,how about some stuffed kongs/ bully sticks? something to lay around and gnaw on?

I kinda thought it was that he is just still a puppy at 15 months but I didn't want to believe it. I hope getting my puppy will wear him out even more. Can't wait to introduce them! Thanks for the reply! Would love to see pics of your Aussies

here's a couple pics of my beasts
![]() When I got Jynx, an aussie friend told me, that one day I would wake up and Jynx would be amazingly settled down/more mature and I would "think" she was sick LOL..She was RIGHT, when she hit about 2.5 or so, I really thought she ws sick but she was just maturing She's still a wild crazy girl with a smile always on her face.My male Jag is a rescue out of working lines, much more serious, / intense almost border collie like when a ball is involved.. This is Jag ![]() This Is Jynx
