GSD cowering
I was given a beautiful female gsd about 2 years ago. She is now five and gets along great with our toy poodle and the rest of my family. She is very friendly and docile and often gets on her back and let's you pet her on her stomach. She doesn't like being outside and is not aggressive towards people or other dogs. However she doesn't like being barked at otherwise she gets aggressive towards the barking dog. She has no fear of any animals including livestock.
The problem is she cowers when you call her with a slightly elevated tone. I take her on long walks and my family and I treat her very well, but she continues to cower even after lots of affection? Is there anything I can do to rid her of this behavior (cowering) because my last male gsd we got as a pup and we never had this problem? Any information appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
It sounds like she has a very soft temperament. You may never be able to train her not to. What about using a whistle instead of your voice to call her back?
