I've had major about two years now. He is well behaved most of the time. In the house and yard.
Walking on a leash is fine..until we pass another dog. Then all **** breaks loose. We all know that GSD's are powerful dogs....it's hard to control him. Secondly, He seems very aggressive around other dogs. He has jumped the front yard fence to go after other dogs. When he gets to them he just wants to play. No biting. Just hopping around. My issue is getting him to come back when he takes off after a dog. He doesn't listen whatsoever until he's done Ideas? Suggestions? Recommendations? Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

I have a similar problem with Stella. She is dog reactive. Up until recently I was able to get it under control using several different things and methods. Then we had a few setbacks and had to start again. But anyway, what ultimately got it under control was using a prong collar and lots of obedience training. Also threw in a bit of LAT. We were doing great until we had several negative dog experiences in a short period of time, which undid a lot of the work we had done....
What I have decided to do now is to get a really strong leave it command and a bomb proof recall. Hopefully with those 2 commands in place, I can walk Stella and not lose control. |

Forgive me. I'm new...LAT? Also, the prong collar doesn't affect him. Either he doesn't feel it or he doesn't care.
