Sometimes I wish I had a Great Dane. I hear they're couch potatoes.
![]() It's a darn chilly day here in Jersey. In the 30's with 40+mph winds. Can't even imagine what the wind chill is now. Does he care? No! I froze my tookus off out there. I let him out and he just stands there looking in the window. So I find a hat, put on my coat and out I went. Let me tell you, the wind was BITING! And all someone cared about was me throwing the ball! I lasted 15 minutes and couldn't take it anymore. Once inside my hands started to burn as they were thawing out. Yep, forgot the gloves. I want a couch potato!

Ranger's top time out alone is 5 minutes! He has only one driving desire: "Dad throw ball!!!!!" If that isn't happening he isn't happy lol.

Yep, that looks familiar. I thought that once I had another dog, they might play outside together without me. No dice. They both just relax on the porch and wait for me. They don't whine or bark, and they do watch their surroundings eventually instead of staring in, but they don't play.
Now, we can take Kaylee to her friend's house and she plays outside without supervision there. Her friend spends more time outdoors on her own, so I guess she knows better how to play without people. But that doesn't happen at this house! :P |

Mine prefers to be out if the weather is above 0 degrees, especially if it's sunny. We have the 3 dogs and they play an awful lot, he has neighbor dogs to keep track of through the fence, as well as the few cars that drive up our hill to race from the corner to corner.
He does like to be inside, but not for long.

Lucky does not understand at 22 degrees today with a brisk wind the door could not remain open. I am apparently quite inconsiderate. Went out once for about 20 minutes but he gave up first and chose to stay in the yard pouncing on drifts w/ repeated trips to the patio door in case I opened it. No way no way! Lucky went outside today through the basement while I tried to catch laundry up and somehow always went back to the patio. After 5 trips out beside his fetch time he's out on the couch w/ hubby.

If Shasta is out by herself, she goes out and does her business and then she's back at the door with the sad puppy worried eyebrows look going on waiting for me to let her back in. If the neighbors dogs are out or the other dogs are in the yard, she could care less but by herself... nope. She even comes racing into my bedroom when she gets let back inside if I'm not the one to let her in lol. She's a nut.
