Default Whining.

My 1 year old has started whining a lot. He gets plenty of attention has plenty of toys just about anything he needs. Any ideas how to get around the whining?

If he gets attention for his whining that will encourage it. You can try try yawning and turning your back (calming signals for dogs) or have him do something, like sit/stay, down/stay. That will break the whine cycle because he has to concentrate on something else. It helps to try to figure out what triggers it. If he does it when he is left alone, the threads on separation anxiety would be helpful.
