Hi there, advice needed for a friend.
Castrated male boxer 7.5yrs old and kennel mate female entire bitch same age. Lived together all their life. In the house evenings and nights, in the kennels during the day, male good natured and submissive to the bitch. (the bitch is sparky and agressive to wards the other female spayed bitch but they live seperately) Its not been that long since she has finished a season (end sept 12) and has had a false pregnancy aprox 2 weeks ago. Last evening she was allowed on the sofa for the first time, when the male came into the room and thought he might join her, she attacked him and a fight started, he was not the aggressor he was only defending himself. Since then she has gone for him several times unprovoked and the owner fears she will not be able to kennel them together ever again together. She has never had problems with them before Heeeeeelp. Can anyone recommend a homeopathic remedy, as i'm at a loss at the moment. We are assuming the false pregancy has a bearing on the attacks.

Are all the dogs boxers? Is there a reason the aggressive bitch has not been spayed? Can the male be kenneled with the spayed bitch?
I'm sure the aggression has a lot to do with hormones, especially the false pregnancy. Definitely no more on the couch for that bitch. Someone smarter than I will have to chime in with more helpful advice. I wish your friend luck. |

Hi Vron,
I hope you`re doing well ! You could try the homeopathic remedy Sepia 30c (or 30k), 3 times daily for a week (i.e. 6-7 days) and repeat after a week, but only if necessary. One of the conditions Sepia (= Sepia officinalis) is used for is false pregnancy followed or accompanied by depression and often bad temper/aggression in a normally even-tempered bitch. Hope this works ...... |

Thank you Wim, glad you are still out there, knew some one would come to my friends aid. Will certainly try the serpia.
Wim, I have requested that both posts on the subject be linked for ease of posting. the other post is titled 'more info on kennel mates sudden aggression' Which gives a fuller picture of the bitch in question.
