odd behavior

ive had a 3 yr old german shepherd for 2 years now and she has never gotten in the trash before but twice in the last two days she has pulled the trash can down and and chewed everything up. it appeared she went after a lil of everything and i didnt have any meat or anything in there either time. any ideas on the sudden behavior? thanks
