Default Puzzling

Whenever they line up for a face oFf in a hockey game or line up before a play in a football game on tv, Wolfie starts whining loudly, his tail goes up in an agressive manner, and he quivers. He runs over inches from my 55 inch flat screen on the wall and waits whining and quivering. Sometimes he tries to jump at the tv and sometimes he just watches. Either wy, he's very excited almost agitated. We tell him no and he stops but next play it starts all over again. It gets annoying at evry play and I don't know how to get him to stop doing that. I can't even figure out why he does it.

Also, I'm afraid he will take my tv down if he jumps on it so I would like to stop this behavior.

Can you redirect him w/ a down or a tug toy ? When they line up tell him wait for it wait for it and as it happend release ,justdo it back by where your sitting. Im no trainer but its a thought. The other thing use a tug toy andtug w/ him till that play is done. Im not into hockey but Lucky tried jumping into our big screen in the basement when horses ran on tv and I distracted w/ a ball.I did miss some plot turns on movies though.Unless Wolfie is like my dad used to be w/ football he tackled the TV during a bowl game.He could just be atrue fan.

I have tried redirecting, and he just isn't interested. He will go for the toy, and then just drop it, like he doesn't want to play. It's strange, as soon as the play has started, he walks away. It's like the anticipation of the lineup gets him.

is he picking up on some excitement on your part? lol

There was a lady that had a dog of mine that would be resting in the kitchen (heated floors) and could be in a deep sleep . But, when the family was downstairs in their "entertainment pit / home theatre" and the theme song for COPS game on with "bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do" came on the dog would almost fall downstairs , sit in front of the TV and howl along. Go figure .

that's a funny story

That's a riot! I should put on my tape of COPS when Hubby was on there. I wonder what Wolfie would think of Daddy on TV. LOL
