Hello there,
My GSD is about 11-month almost 1 year old, Coco has been the most active submissive GSD you will ever seen. She has never bit me or mouthed me since I I got her from the shelter a month ago. She obeys all of my commands, except when she is under "stress". She goes crazy when other dogs are around. She barks incessantly and even on leash she tries to lunge forward and attack any other dogs or cats, or any big sized stuff animals within her vicinity. Today, I brought her to a friend's house to meet a lovely Golden lab. She went ballistic and wanting to hurt the poor lab. When she is under that type of "stress", all of my command fails to work, the only thing I can do is to pick her up (about 65lbs) in my arms or held the leash firmly to prevent her from biting other dogs. I don't know what had happened before I adopted her a month ago, but it seems to be a major problem for Coco, and I think it will become a bigger problem in the near future. When she is full grown in about 6 months, not only her size and weight will increase, the liability of hurting other owners' animals will become realistically real. Help >.< Any prompt response will be much appreciated. Much troubled, Caleb |

Evaluation with a trainer who specializes in aggression and preferably knows GSD very well.... ASAP.
While it seems to have worked so far picking your pup up during these events, the pup can redirect on you. Get him walking FAST past the other dog. Easier said then done I know, because all he is interested in is getting to the dog. |
