Default Biting When Outside

My family is visiting my boyfriend and I in Colorado and we all went snow sledding. Every time someone rode downhill, Sascha, my 2 yr old male GSD, would chase after them, then run back uphill to me. But when I rode downhill on the sled, he chased, as normal, then bit at my head and arms, and jumped up on hind legs to paw me. He wrapped his entire mouth around my head, then clamped onto my shoulders and triceps. He was growling, but it wasn't an aggressive growl, although he bit kinda hard (though no blood was drawn).

My questions are: Was this just overexcitement? and Why didn't he bite anyone else? Four other people were sledding too.

May have been excitement, or playing, or him trying to save you from tumbling down the hill and getting hurt!

My dog Basu used to do this. He would also pull me off of the sled and start trying to hump me. Sledding was really exciting when Basu was there.

HAHA. Yeah Colorado is beautiful this time of year. I think he may have been excited too. He was trying to body block me from continuing to slide down so it makes sense he may have thought i was in danger. LOL. Maybe I'll tie him up and let him just drag me at his own pace.
