Chewing

I have a 8 month old GSD and he has been non stop chewing on the end of his tail.I have tried correcting him with no results.Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Have you examined the area where he's biting/chewing? Is there any redness and/or irritation? Is he chewing/biting any other areas?

I have checked its a little red,he just seems to do it at night,so far
