What do you all think is normal play behavior among dogs?
I ask because there seem to be a lot of opinions! That is, I have seen many people flip out at dogs who were just playing, convinced that they were fighting. Where do you all draw the line when your dog(s) are playing with other dogs? |

when one of the dogs shows signs of discomfort and trying to get away and the other dog won't let up, I step in. Otherwise, my dogs have always been kind of self-regulating. Goodness knows that it sometimes sounds like they are going to tear the house down though!

It depends on the dog she is playing with. In general though they play pretty rough, teeth barred biting on each other tackling each other and such. If it gets too intense, such as a lot of growling and angry snapping then they are separated for some cool off time but that doesn't happen often. I'm not an expert but I think they know better than we do what they can handle and I know that Kona will let the other dog know if they are too rough with her. The only times I really stop the play is if I see that they are really going after her ears.
