Ironic Song Howling

There's a song called "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine. Every time it comes on the radio our GSD howls through the whole song. At some point in the song she'll start racing around the house and try to play with us.

The song has no effect on our other dog who is a shep/collie sweetie of a dog. But our rough/tough shep gets right into this song.

Does anyone else have trigger songs for their dogs howling?

We didn't know she was into howling until she started with this song about a month or two ago.

What is the purpose of the howling?

Maybe your dog thinks the song is great and is singing along as well as she can.

I have no idea what the purpose is but we learned on the road trip that so far Kona has two songs that make her howl, yelp and bark like crazy. The Sponge Bob Theme Song and 3 A.M by Eminem. She actually barks in near perfect harmony with the opening to the Eminem song.

I went to iTunes and listened to a clip. I think it would make me howl, too, if I had to listen to the entire song

my dog doesn't sing to any songs. he does leave
the room when i play my acoustic guitar (softly)
but i know i suck and so does my dog. i was playing
outside and a bird landed on the railing near me.
i hit a few cords and he flew off. when he was flying
away it didn't sound like chirping it sounded like laughter.

My JRT howls with the phone and happy birthday. Mercury won't howl for anything.

this is deep. keep an eye on Jack. you know the Apes with bone,
the Monlith, HAL (the next letter after H is I, the next letter
after A is B and the next letter after L is M. HAL; IBM.

you're right, take a walk with the dog and everything
is going to be ok.
