Sasha loves to go into town. She absolutely goes nuts whenever I open the door to the car. However, if we aren't going for a walk she throws a fit. For instance, I will go to my grandmother's house occasionally, and we will just be sitting on the porch or around the kitchen table and she will just whine and pace (the pacing tends to start after I tell her to stay off the carpet--my grandma's little poodles pee on the carpet and while Sasha is house broke I don't trust her not to pee where they've peed--or when we're outside and she figures out she's only got 20 ft of leash to roam with). For those of you who don't know, Sasha's a rescue I got at 2yo; so, I'm thinking that maybe this is a result of her not going enough places as a puppy? My question is, what should I do when she starts doing this. I generally ignore the fussing until it gets to be too much and then I take her home. I'm sure that I just need to get her out more often and hopefully she'll get used to just chilling out for a while. I mean, the girl will sleep all day at home, but as soon as we go out she just can't lay down! When I go to my other grandma's house I plan on bringing a cow knuckle for her to munch on, since we can't go in the house anyways so there won't be a bloody mess on the carpet. However, at my grandma's house with the poodles I don't do that because one of her poodles is food aggressive and I don't want to start a problem. Anyways, any ideas on how to manage her when we go out and not for a walk would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and this happens whether we've walked first and she's tired or not; she is NEVER too tired to think she should be at someone else's house.
