I wanted to get some opinions on what this behaviour is. About three weeks ago we add Harley to our family. The dogs seem to get along quite well, no food agression or anything. I've never had two dogs before so I do have a question about one thing.
A couple of times a day Harley will get all excited and jump and chase Bella. He bites at her leg, ears, and neck. sometimes he holds on and she yelps. He always lets go immediately but then goes right back to doing this. They both are barking their play bark during it but they do show teeth and growl as well. It always seems to be Harley initiating.

If you think it's too rough, it probably is. SPECIALLY if there is yelping.
When you first add new dogs to the home, for a few months (years? always? ) you may need to monitor the play to keep it down to a 'dull roar' or even prevent playing at all if one dog won't play nice and it too rough. I do NOT get a new dog to make my other dogs their 'play toy'. So either I play with the offender (lots of toys) and/or exercise everyone outdoors in games that don't involve rough housing (chuckit, swimming, hiking)
