could it be a fear stage he's going through? he's only a year old.
his attitude could change again.

I wish my pup was like your dog. When I'm out with my dog he wants to be the dominant dog. The only time I have seen him demonstrate submissive behavior is with my mom's 10 year old lab. He licks the lab on the corners of the lips but he doesn't tuck his tail in. The lab is a big boy too. Usually when my GSD sees dogs he is barking and growling. I wish he would just tuck his tail in and behave. Your lucky.
