Canine Companion ™ Warranty Information
Thank you for purchasing your Canine Companion ™ from Canine Companions, LLC. We hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Canine Companions, LLC at 1-800-CANINE (226463) and we will be happy to address your concerns. Warranty Your Canine Companion ™ unit comes with a limited warranty against major defects. A major defect is any such defect caused by the manufacturer or by shipping and handling that impacts the appearance or functionality of your Canine Companion ™. In order for this warranty to be valid, your Canine Companion ™ must be seen by a licensed service provider within 14 days of purchase to assure that no major system failures have been registered. Those can be, but are not limited to, defects in the propulsion and power system of your unit. Some defects, such as defects to the propulsion joints at the back and front of the unit (“dysplasia”) are warranted by the manufacturer until 2 years of age. You must see your licensed service provider on or before the second anniversary of your unit’s manufacture to claim any defect in the propulsion units. This type of defect can be diagnosed only by radiographs. If your Canine Companion ™ is a refurbished unit sold to you through a licensed reseller, such as Canine Companion Refurbishment and Rescue Center, LLC, your unit has been thoroughly screened for any pre-existing defects, but cannot be guaranteed to be completely free of defects due to its refurbished status. Should you notice any major defects in your refurbished Canine Companion ™, please notify your licensed reseller of such defects. Your reseller may be able to provide you with additional information on care and handling of a slightly defective refurbished Canine Companion ™. Canine Companions, LLC does not warranty against damage from extended use of your Canine Companion ™. Normal wear and damages to the unit are to be expected by the purchaser and are excluded from the limited warranty. Accessories The Canine Companion ™ and refurbished Canine Companion ™ came to you as a base model only and did not include any optional accessories. Canine Companions, LLC recommends that you purchase the following optional accessories upon receipt of your unit, which are available through major retailers nationwide: (1) Storage Container, sized according to the Canine Companion ™ model (2) Recharging containers. Each Canine Companion ™ model will require two recharging containers, one to be used for solid recharging, and one to be used for liquid recharging. Canine Companions, LLC recommends purchasing stainless steel or stoneware containers for this purpose, as other materials can potentially damage your Canine Companion ™ model. (3) Recharging solids. Your Canine Companion ™ should be recharged twice a day upon reaching its 2 year anniversary of manufacture, or three times a day prior to its 2 year anniversary of manufacture. (4) Neck strap. Canine Companion ™ models should be outfitted with neck straps bearing model and owner identification tags (to be purchased separately), as well as necessary registrations required by your state or city of residence. Your model should still be equipped with a neck strap if it is also identified by imprint in the hearing component or by RFID chip. (5) Tether. Canine Companion ™ models that did not include training software add-ons should be tethered using a tether, which attaches to the neck strap, when outside the purchaser’s premises to prevent the unit from becoming lost or stolen. (6) Cleaning and maintenance supplies. Your Canine Companion ™ model will require cleaning and maintenance with relative frequency. Please refer to your manufacturer’s model manual and guidance from your licensed service provider on the frequency and types of cleaning and maintenance your model will need. Software Your Canine Companion ™ model has basic software applications installed that will allow the unit to interface with its new owner, the storage container, the recharging containers, and the waste receptacle. Purchasers are responsible for providing the unit with the necessary accessories for this software to initialize, including access to an acceptable waste receptacle. Your Canine Companion ™ will need access to the recharging containers at least twice a day, and access to the waste receptacle at least three times a day. Your Canine Companion ™ model has the capacity to accept further software, which can be purchased at training software retailers worldwide. Additional software installations and upload of software updates are the responsibility of the purchaser and Canine Companions, LLC makes no guarantees to the compatibility of software programs with your Canine Companion ™ model. Software can add additional functionality to your Canine Companion ™ model that may be found to be of use for the daily and routine operation of the unit. Some Canine Companion ™ models may also be compatible with software updates that may upgrade them to Canine Working ™ models for the purchaser. Please check with both your licensed service provider and your training software retailer before attempting to install such software, to ensure that your Canine Companion ™ model is compatible with this software. Your refurbished Canine Companion ™ model may come with pre-installed software that exceeds the basic software installations. Your Canine Companion Refurbishment and Rescue Center, LLC should provide you with information regarding this software and functionality, but makes no guarantee that the software will initiate as advertised once the unit is sold to the purchaser. Software errors are sometimes found in refurbished Canine Companion ™ models and may cause unwanted or unexpected problems with your unit. Please contact your Canine Companion Refurbishment and Rescue Center, LLC for information regarding software problems. Canine Companions, LLC recommends that refurbished Canine Companion ™ models are taken for software updates by their purchasers, regardless of which software is currently installed in the model. A re-install of some software applications may be required. Special Notice Your Canine Companion ™ may include a manufacturer’s defect that makes the unit incompatible with the Feline Companion ™ produced by Feline Companions, LLC, a sister company of Canine Companions, LLC. Should such a defect be found in your unit, the installation of additional software can sometimes alleviate the problem, but will not always be effective depending on your Canine Companion ™ model. Should your Canine Companion ™ model be incompatible with your Feline Companion ™ model, it is recommended that you return your most recently acquired model to the manufacturer before any damage occurs to either unit. |
