Hard to tell from the pix. Important to remember though that lots of people don't know that there is such a thing as a PB pure black GSD. I recently met a woman at the park with a gorgeous black GSD and I complimented her on her shepherd, and she looked surprised - she said I was the first person who hadn't asked her what "mix" her girl was.

well if you look under non urgent i got told to not post unless i am sure it is a pb so.... posted a little baby in ohio,was not sure. i have saw other do it before.guess i will just leave the posting to those higher up with knowledge. thought i was helping to make a difference,guess i was just wrong. how can you really tell 100% from a picture anyhow? if i ever do post again i will only constantly be second guessing myself.i was really offended too. god bless you guys and what you do.

rocky1, post what you feel you think is PB, if they get removed, you did your best to save and don't feel offended. I looked at these pups up close and saw the white foot, too late to delete it so I left it to the mods to remove. I hope they were saved, it is a pretty sad shelter in Hastings.

i understand you,did you see the Lh pup in youngstown,under urgent? see that is what confuses me.it does not look pb,lol.looks like a mix with something,but i see little to no gs.would love to see him saved either way though.

Oh, yes he looks pb to me! I have one that looks very much like him. The coated ones are usually larger boned. Petfinder usually has many purebreds listed as mixes, or some that have no gsd in them listed as shepherd mix, go figure...
