Is this dog safe?

Gwenivere was rescued from last week's flood waters by ACOs, after a neighbor reported she was chained up behind a trailer with rising water up to her chest. Apparently, she had been chained up with no shelter for quite some time. After she was taken to animal control, the owner was contacted and told he owed a $25. fine when he picked her up. He said they could just "keep her".

A volunteer drove up to Chattooga today and pulled her for Southern Cross. She was still covered in mud, and also feces from her run. She has now had a bath and has also been seen by a vet. She is a happy and fairly healthy little girl who looks to be around a year old and is very shy.

This is just great news. This is such a high kill shelter, and the one volunteer I know works so hard to try and get help for these dogs. What a relief...
