Adoption fees for dogs at Genesee County Animal Control are:Mix breed puppies under 4 months $65.00. Pure breed puppies under 4 months $75.00. Mix breed dogs over 4 months $100.00. Pure breed dogs over 4 months $110.00.The price for adult dogs includes rabies/distemper shots started and a current dog license. The price on puppies includes the first puppy shot. All animals must be altered then you will receive $50 back from the county. Our hours of operation are: Monday - Friday 10:00 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. Saturdays are 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Closed Sundays and holidays. No phone calls are taken on Saturday. Cash only. WE WILL ONLY SELL ADULT DOGS TO RESIDENTS OF GENESEE COUNTY. ################################################## ################################################## ############################## A very sweet dog. So is someone on this board able to pull from this shelter? A resident or rescue?

Why would a shelter have such a strict guideline? Isn't the goal to get as many out as possible?

What kinda shelter is this? They have pets stacked on top of each other and even the bottom of the "kennel" is wire.

flint michigan is a town which has been totally decimated by the decline of the auto industry. yes, these cages are awful and i believe this facility does sell to research labs. every rescue i have spoken with here for months has been totally full. dear girl, bless her heart.

I think most shelters in michigan do sell to research. This particular shelter rarely lets dogs out of the cages as well.

If someone (or a rescue) not local was willing to help her, I'd bet we could find a local rescue that would pull her and then 'transfer' her. I've seen that done quite a few times on the PF boards.
