PRINCETON WV-Jericho,m,b/t, ID16817 - sad (prob adopted/rescued)

Don't know a thing about this dog. . .just posting as I just learned that MERCER CO Shelter has NO Petfinder site up and hasn't for some time. .. God knows how many dogs have lost their lives with no chance of getting adopted since they don't even get their pictures and info out to the public. People still look on PF for pets. . . lots of them. Jericho looks pb but is listed as "Mix" . . .guessing his white feet have them guessing if he's pb. .. They ARE A KILL SHELTER. . . !!!

Sad, I'm in WV as well and picking up my first GSD pup in the middle of March. I'll get the word out about this guy.

PLEASE keep this poor boy in mind if you're able to adopt or have rescue. . . this shelter has had a lot of controversy in recent past over the county commissioner insisting all dogs be euthanized after hold time is up. If this boy is still at the shelter it speaks highly of him and the staff's desire to find placement for him!!!

...and by the graying of his muzzle, I'd guess him at about 5 yrs old. Just a guess tho.

very possible could be around 5. . . sometimes the muzzle hair can shine in the picture and make it look grey so pictures can be deceiving. . . but your guess from his picture is as good as any guess. A friend told me someone she knew called and asked about him but they had little info to offer . .. dog friendly, cat friendly, etc etc. .. I used to pull a lot from this shelter for rescues but with change in management things have changed and I don't do that anymore. The Rescue Co-ord Stacy is supposed to be very helpful..?but don't know if that was who the person spoke with when they called about this guy. . .

I looked thru this shelters pictures again yesterday and it says "Rescued/Adopted" on Jericho's picture. . .SO, guess he's safe. The shelter evidently has been unable to euthanize for a few months since they were unable to obtain the medicine used for euthanasing. but apparently they got some in and the killings have begun again . . . so please look through their FB site if you know any rescues/friends looking to adopt. I think there is a link with Jericho's picture.

I also looked some time ago and could not see him under the "in need" or "gone" list, so I assumed he was safe. Looks like a sweetie, I am happy for him.

It appears there is a new GSD intake that looks very nice in the pic. .. will post. . . they need to get as many out of there as quickly as possible to make room to prevent as many euthanasias as possible.
