BOWLING GREEN, OH: "Chris" - Senior B&T Sad Girl (RIP died @ shelter)
"Chris" (ID #12-669) is currently at the Wood County Dog Shelter in Bowling Green, OH.
There is not much information given about Chris. She is estimated to be around 5-6 yrs old. She looks sad and worried in her Petfinder photo. :( If you'd like to know more about her, please contact the Wood County Dog Shelter at the phone number or e-mail address given below. This shelter is rescue friendly and they do their best to find homes or rescues for the dogs there, but there is only so much room and they do euthanize weekly. Bowling Green, OH is just south of Toledo and the shelter is very easy access off of I-75. What a handsome fella. Not the way his life should turn out. If I was closer I would go visit. I just rescued a beautiful young lady about 3 weeks ago. Shepherds are loyal...but when rescued they seem to take it to another level. I hope Chris is fortunate and finds a loving home to live out his remaining days.

Just to clarify - Chris is a female!! :)

A rescue in MI called about Chris this morning and even though her Petfinder link is not yet updated, she has been ADOPTED!!! http://germanshepherdhome.net/forum/...appyboogie.gif

SAD UPDATE http://germanshepherdhome.net/forum/...ault/teary.gif
"Chris", renamed "Chrissy" wasn't actually adopted, but was pulled by the Humane Society in Toledo because she was on the euth list at the original shelter. Earlier in the week the HS sent out a plea to GSD rescues because Chris was so depressed at the shelter and was very "barky" while in the kennel, but a sweet girl once she was out. A rescue was found in MI and she was supposed to be transported this weekend, but she came down with kennel cough and couldn't travel with the unvaccinated puppy on transport. Chrissy passed away at the humane society overnight last night. They think being in the shelter was just too much for her, but I'm wondering if she was sicker than they knew. Rest in peace, Chrissy. http://germanshepherdhome.net/forum/...ault/frown.gif |
That is so heartbreaking. Her sad face really haunted me and I was so hoping that she'd find a nice, loving home to spend the rest of her life. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

That poor girl. I feel terrible. Its makes me so sad when dogs have to go that way..in a shelter. ):

terrible outcome. i still don't understand why a 5 or 6 year old gsd is considered a "senior". imho this age should be listed as an adult.
