Roman is still in need of help... If anyone has it in their heart to reach out and help this boy please contact the shelter. The shelter had him seen by the vet and xrayed. His hips are good (no HD) so the vet said his rear leg weakness is most likely caused by a nerve problem. . disc damage? or he also suspected he could have DM. No definate disc problem was visible on the xrays he had done, but the vet said additional tests (MRI) would be needed to confirm/find a damaged disc. He has been started on prednisone and also some antibiotics and I offered to temporarily foster him to make sure he gets his meds on time... Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but he looks like he has gained a little strength in his hind legs since I first saw him a week and a half ago. The vet estimated he is around 8 yrs old, and he weighed in at 91 lbs. He is the most lovable big boy you could find. He's not been taught much over the years (or cared for) but he has heart full of love to give. I honestly don't think he'd do well with other male dogs, but I haven't tested him since he's on R and R. IF anyone can help him please call the shelter. . .I'm pleading for help for this guy. . . he deserves to have a much better life than where he came from even if for only a few years or less. . .
