This absolutely stunning dog is has a fracture in his Right Hind leg. Please pull him and get him the help he needs!! They have marked him as a Malinois, but I have one - the color is all wrong and he looks GSD to me. The put him at about 4 years old.

Initial Exam:
Scan negative.
N, ~ 4 y
Tolerates handling & petting.
But nervous & tense.
Mild dental tartar & gingivitis.
Non weight bearing rt. hind leg.
T: 100.8 F
RR: wnl
Checked by Dr. Tejada-
No obvious long bone fracture.
Palpated pain/ sensitivity on
pelvic palpation r/o- fracture / dislocation.
Administered 1.6 metacam inj sq,
2.0 cc hydromorphone inj im.
Prescribed by hydromorphone inj 2.0 cc
bid for 4 days.
Ceph 500 mg 2 cap po bid for 10 days.
BARH

Exam, 2/5:
QAR
Non weight bearing on rt hind.
Pain on palpation of lf hip
Sedated - v/d/ lateral x-rays of hip taken
Shows fxs at acetabulum
Will need orthopedic consult for treatment and repair
rec NH placement
Cont on pain meds prescribed
Add previcox 227 mg - 1 tab sid x 5 days

Poor boy, he looks like he's been through the wars. Is he ALL shepherd? Whatever he is, I'll bet he'd clean up good.

SAFE - Pulled by Shepherd's Hope

Yesterday we featured Tyler... a sweet 4 year old shepherd mix with a fractured hip. We are happy to say that he has been rescued by Shepherd's Hope BUT his story has not ended. They are in desperate need of assistance with his medical bills. Tyler is a good boy, affectionate and already neutered.
