I guess I should have explained. They are clean and good to work with however they are always full and euthanize more than half of their intake as evidenced by their numbers. In my opion that is bad. I have lived in the south all my life and those are high numbers. I wish they did more for advertising, (pet adoption days etc.) I would help if I lived closer.

the adoption on girl #2 fell thru and i'm hoping she'll work out for the person i have in mind who's looking (checked out thoroughly, of course). i'm working with carla on evaluation of her temperment and hopefully it will be a good match for my adopter. i have not personally worked with carla before. anyone who has worked with her or knows her personally, please pm me with any useful info, thanks so much!!!

looks like this just got moved??? Carla is one hour from Molly's group (Southern Cross) I would contact Molly and she if she knows someone that can check her out.

looks as tho this girl (#2) is coming to michigan. of course, a deal's not done 'till it's done. i think she's okay in follow-up for now, if anything falls thru i'll make sure to notify.

yay!!! gwyneth is definitely coming to michigan, along with another sweet girl named star who has been waiting for her forever home for many months. a twofer!!! one will go to my waiting, approved adopter, one will stay at hy-hopes until we can find a wonderful forever home for her.

the rescue of these two dogs is dedicated to my sera-girl's mom, sybil shepherd, who died last month at the age of 13.5. now sybil's guardian/owner will have another sheppie girl to love!!!

these two sweet girls leave georgia late tonight and will be here first thing in the morning. it's like christmas when you can't wait to see what's under the tree!!!

I've only met Carla once in person, but I know her through several other contacts and she is 'good people' for sure. Check out her website, her bio there.

She has helped work with/pull GSDs for other groups.

She's also very knowledgeable with GSDs....

Oh my...there is much worse 'round here ....trust me. The shelter in my county is worse, much higher euth rates.

IMO in these days of cut backs in gov't budgets, back yard breeders cranking out pitties, we have some of the highest foreclosure rates in the country and that affects not only the tax base but the number of pets that people dump it's a viscious cycle kind of thing....it's not always fair to blame the shelter for the euth rate.

Not to mention that for some reason the south has more problems getting pets adopted and that's why our local rescues often send the dogs to the north/north east.
