ROMULUS, MI: "Major" B&T Adult Boy (shelter adopt)

I found "Major" while looking around on Petfinder.

He is currently at the Romulus Animal Shelter in Romulus, MI. He was found as a stray and nobody ever came looking for him. His Petfinder bio says he has an injury to one leg and will need a vet to look at it as soon as possible - no further information given about the type of injury. He is described as super sweet and a gentle giant who walks well on a leash.

I do not have any further information about Major. Please contact the Romulus Animal Shelter if you'd like to know more about him.

Romulus, MI is about 50 miles north of Toledo, OH and not far from Detroit.

courtney, i am just south of ann arbor...nice to "meet" you and welcome to the board. unfortunately everyone i know in rescue seems to be full, out of foster space, and many i've spoken with lately seem to just be kinda burnt out...rescue is so demanding and can just become overwhelming. my heart breaks daily for these dogs, but currently i know no one with space or resources. the only thing i can currently offer is the ability to courtesy list with two local rescues for turn-key dogs with no "issues". i think what's needed most in michigan (and everywhere actually), are good foster homes.

Heavens, look at that face. I have a kennel at my parents' place in Livonia that I can keep him in temporarily. I can take him to the vet tomorrow. Did someone go get him?

I can help too with transporation. I live very close to Romulus and have a large SUV with kennel.

I called the shelter and left a message. Apparently they are only open from 2:30 to 3:45, weekdays only! I will call again at 2:45 today. I'm at work in Southfield until 5. If someone can get him, I will meet you after 5 to get him.

I talked to the shelter, they still have him. $35 to get him out, they will be open until 4:00 today. If anybody can get him, I will meet you after 5pm today and take him and take him to the vet tomorrow. I'm not a "rescuer", but that face is just too much. Any help or suggestions from any experienced rescue people would be greatly appreciated.
