Nicki is a two year old purebred German shepherd. She was turned over to the shelter by an owner after she nipped at a female dog in the household who happened to be in heat. We have observed this dog's behavior at the shelter for several weeks prior to listing her, and find her to be extremely shy and non-aggressive. She is described by her former owners as "being very shy since she was a small puppy." She got along very well with the children in the household. Although she was an outdoor dog, Nicki displays signs of natural housetraining instincts, as she does not eliminate in her kennel, but will wait until she can get to the outdoor run. She needs a home with someone who can offer her love and paitence, so that she can grow in confidence and trust in her new environment. Her current weight is 47#. BECAUSE OF HER SPECIAL NEEDS SITUATION, NICKI IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AT A REDUCED RATE. Please refer to shelter #11-11-D002

That's one worried looking girl, turned in on a flimsy excuse. Idiot owner, having 2 females together when 1 is in heat, and now Nicki pays the price.

Website says they are a kill shelter and can keep dogs for a limited amount of time...
Does she need to be moved to URGENT????????

I started to put the post in Urgent, but the shelter did say they kept her for several weeks
before they posted her. So it sounded like they were committed to giving her a chance.
If the moderators want to move her to Urgent, I'm all for it.
