This is odd - Fiona was originally posted on 9/18, then moved to Follow Up when her listing was gone - perhaps she was returned to the shelter.....

I e-mailed the warden for more information. Fiona needs someone to work with her as she is quite timid and nervous. Because of space constraints, she is scheduled to be euthanized this Thursday, Oct. 6th.

Here is the response from the warden. If anyone can help Fiona, please contact them immediately:

Fiona was surrendered along with three other dogs by her owner as the owner’s spouse died, parents became extremely ill, and she lost her job. We have placed two of the four dogs brought in but have not been able to place Fiona because she is very timid and nervous and needs someone that can work with her on these issues. Due to her behavior, no one has expressed interest in her and she requires placement in a home with someone that is familiar working with a dog that is exhibiting her behaviors. Unfortunately we have taken in many dogs over the past five days and as a result are forced to euthanize dogs due to space limitations. Fiona has been selected for euthanasia this Thursday as she is less likely to be adopted than other dogs that are at our shelter.

If you or someone else is interested in Fiona, please contact our office no later than Thursday between 8:30 am and 12:00 noon as Fiona will be euthanized Thursday between 12:00 noon and 3:30 pm and our office is closed during that time

Re: Euthanasia Thursday: Sounds like this little girl is in desperate need....
If Anna (another little lost "black" soul) can learn to trust and be happy surely there is hope for Fiona..

It's often hard to place dogs with no problems, there are so many - doubly difficult when they have obvious issues. (Though being in the shelter may have made a small problem seem larger.) Fiona would need an experienced, patient person by the sound of it, so needs rescue rather than adoption. Very sad, she would be fine in the right home.

I stopped to see her and Princess on Monday.
She is a beautiful dog yet very nervous and scared. I met her eyes and she looked away after a few moments. She didn't show any signs of aggression toward me or the man who brought her out of the kennel and did sit next to me to be petted but did try to hide initially.
Will someone please take her?
