Princeton WV-Angel,young f#10418 EUTHANIZING SAT 9/17 !! (rescue)

The Mercer County Commissioner has ordered ALL dogs at the Mercer County Shelter who have been there over 10 days to be EUTHANIZED by tomorrow (SAT. 9/17) closing... 6pm. NO EXCEPTIONS... They are no longer allowing any dogs to remain in the facility more than 10 days... day 11 they will be pts.
ANGEL has been in the shelter for at least a month....the only 'hold' Angel is getting is to be put off until the last to be pts tomorrow at the director's request in the hopes someone can save her... She is a german shepherd person and they hold a special place in her heart. But she is helpless to stop them from taking Angels life tomorrow evening.

Angle IS a pb GSD. There was a GSD rescue working with one of the shelter employees ( who had to go into the hospital for surgery) so she was unable to take Angel to be HW tested at the rescues' request. They would only take her if she's HW neg. but she has not been tested yet. The shelter is extremely understaffed... no one has been taking or posting the dogs pictures on petfinder. They are overflowing.

PLEASE...IF ANYONE CAN SAVE ANGEL PLEASE CALL THE SHELTER ASAP... OR PM ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE DIRECTORS CELL PHONE. There is a boarding facility fairly close but they charge $10-$12 a day.. the one we used to use with cheap rates closed last year.

ANgel is SWEET and gets along well with other dogs. I've not personally been down to see her but for the past few years any of the GSDs the director, Lisa, has recommended for rescue have ALWAYS fit the bill. She is excellent at evaluating GSDs.

There are two more GSDS at the shelter also in dire straights that are nice dogs also. Hoping in get pictures of them from Lisa this evening and I'll start threads for both. One is a 9 mo old tall male, b+t. The other is an approx 2 yo female b+t owner confiscation for starving her. They too have until SAT 9/16 or will be euthanized.

I am not able to personally assist at this time with pulling or fostering... The shelter could possible transport to the kennels if any rescue wants to pull and board for a few days.

PLEASE CAN WE SAVE THESE DOGS!!! THESE ARE NICE YOUNG DOGS!! HELP....

Just to reconfirm that the demand from the county commissioner to euthanize all dogs that have been there over 10 days isn't just an idle threat...I had hoped they wouldn't euthanized over the weekend so maybe these dogs would have at least until Monday. Tomorrow is their last day. The director was very upset. She spends many hours of her own time on line contacting rescues to help save these dogs... It's just heartbreaking and makes me want to stay away from the shelters...ignorance is bliss as they say.
