Unhappy KENTON, OH: Pen 17 -"Busa" Young Adult F B&T (listing gone)

"Busa" (pronounced BOO-SA) is currently at the Hardin County Dog Pound in Kenton, OH. This is a very small rurual shelter and they are almost always full. This shelter prefers to sell to research rather than euthanize, but either way, Busa needs to get out as soon as possible.

There is not much information given about her except that she was found as a stray, seems like a young adult, is very sweet, strongly prefers women and is not very fond of men.

I don't have any further information about Busa. If you'd like to know more about her, please contact the shelter at the number or e-mail address given below.

Kenton, OH is just southeast of Findlay, OH, between Toledo and Columbus.

The thought of this girl (or any of the animals at this shelter) being sold to a research lab sickens me...BUMP for Busa!

Busa is still listed, but she is now in Pen 3 - not sure what that means, if anything.

Busa is no longer listed - hopefully it's because she was adopted.....

It is ILLEGAL to sell shelter dogs to research labs!!!!!!!!!!!! Has been for years!!!! Research animals are SUPPOSED to come from Licensed USDA breeding facilities....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (at least that is what I was told when I worked at UP Vet School - there was a BIG stink coz a supplier brought in a blue eyed Siamese for a project - the team wanted an intact blue eyed white cat....I ended up buying the Siamese and rehoming her!!!!)

I know this shelter does it - not sure how they get away with it if it's illegal, but a few weeks ago a friend of mine pulled a dog from this pound and was told that the next day he would've been sold to research. I think there is also a pound not too far away in Michigan that does the same thing - unfortunately.

Sorry Lee, but Michigan and Ohio are two states that have legal loopholes that allow sales of pound animals to brokers/research lab bunchers.
