Default Sophia - 10 Month Old - Austin, Texas (adopted)

Sadly I'm having to re-home my baby girl Sophia. She is a beautiful 10 month old German Shepherd. I'm relocating and won't be able to take her with me.

Date of Birth: 10/04/2010

She has had her shots but is needing to get her next dose a little after you bring her home. She is UNFIXED, and I'm refusing to sell to anyone who will over breed her. I want her fixed, she was going to be fixed when her next shots were due (but I had my baby and was on bed rest from a c-section).

She loves everyone and has a great personality, the vet commented on how sweet she is. She adores everyone and sometimes gets too excited. She doesn't jump on me, but tends to jump on family members or new people... she just gets too excited.

She knows basic commands - sit, lay down (she usually only does this if you motion 'down' with your hands and say down) and get your ball.
She is SO quick at catching on new things it's amazing! I think she will do so well in a training session. If you have a treat she likes, she'll do almost anything for it.
I wasn't able to work with her much because I went on bed rest a couple months after she came home.

Her favorite toys are squeaky toys! She tends to some how make them stop squeaking soon after you buy them though. And she loves balls! She'll keep them all by her and go grab them when it's time to play.

She doesn't tend to like baths so I tend to take her to the groomers. If I get into the bath to bathe her (it's the only way I'm able to do it ) she tends to think I'm stuck and starts crying to 'save me'.

I don't have any papers on her. I was told her parents are both purebred, but she didn't get papers because she didn't think they'd 'breed'. Her Grandpa was a show dog. But I happened to misplace the paper. If I could just remember the site it was on, but I don't have her email... was such a long time ago.

If you think you can provide a nice home for Sophie or know someone who will please send me a pm.
I'm hoping to find a loving home for her.

We're moving on Monday.

Oh what a pretty girl! I wish I could bring her home but I don't have room for another big dog... I hope you find her a good home! Why can't you take her with you?

Thank you We're moving cross country and there will be no room in the moving truck for her I love her dearly and I hope I'm able to find a nice home for her... I never thought this would happen.

It doesn't look like I can edit my post. If there's any way a admin/mod could be so kind to add something into my post that I forgot.
She's micro-chipped and is potty-trained. She can tend to be super hyper indoors but will calm down eventually She tends to still act like she's a little puppy, so will need training but I know she'll do so well! And she is great with kids, since she is so hyper you might want to wait until she calms down a bit since she gets so excited with new people.

I agree. This is very sad. She sounds like a very sweet dog.

OP - If you loved her, then you would find a way to take her with you. You dont leave someone you love, behind.

I so agree, when I relocated to Germany from Canada I shipped my 11 year old Dobie with me, there was no way she was getting left behind, my dog is my family, where there is a will there is a way.

Or just be honest about the details, Stella is almost 11 months old and she is my everything, if I move again she comes along.

Where there is a will there is a way. It would not matter where I moved, my dogs would go with me. They are considered family and I would never toss family aside like an object. Unfortunately not all pets get to be part of a family. It's a matter of prioirty and she doesn't sound like she is one. I hope she finds a wonderful forever home. Our dogs deserve it.

Please keep in mind that this is a rescue thread so let's keep the focus on making sure the dog gets a good home.

OP, have you contacted any local rescues to see if they would courtesy post her for you or if maybe they have some approved adopters that would be a good fit. They may your best resource in finding her a good home with what little time you have.
