Default St. Catharines, Ontario - REX, 3yr old MN (adopted)

Rex is a friendly dog who loves everyone. He loves kids too. He loves playing with toys--his favorite game is chasing bubbles! His guardian is an 84 year old man who can no longer care for Rex so we are helping him find a new forever home. Rex is three years old, neutered and vaccinated.

Spayed/Neutered • Up-to-date with routine shots • House trained • Prefers a home without: cats

Yep, I think I'll be looking for something a little smaller when I'm 84! Rex looks like a sweet boy, hope he finds new digs soon....

I think what upsets me is that the guy didn't think this through when he got Rex. Rex is 3 so the owner was 81 years old when he got him. This just doesn't make sense to me and the dog suffers in the end. I hope Rex finds a good forever home.

Rex is still looking for his forever home

I don't know his story, but he could have been one of those 'gifts' that families often get their senior members as 'company'.

A little more info on rex after I inquired:

Quote:
Rex is good with dogs. Person who has him says people who have had him around cats say he will bark at a cat when he first meets but doesn't go after them them. He is good with all children and with strangers but will bark if a stranger comes up to the house to let you know someone is approaching. He is house trained and car trained. He is high energy so should go to a young family who can take him for walks and play with him or a farm. He is both an inside and an outside dog but likes to be in at night. Off leash he listens well to commands. On leash he pulls and needs more training to walk calming. He's eager to go. His owner is 86 years old and can't deal with his strength when walking him. Rex weighs 82 lbs. We did not test the dog. We don't test dogs. Temperament tests are notoriously unreliable. If you are truly interested in him I can give you the person's phone number so that you can meet Rex.

I wonder how Rex would do in a multiple dog family?

I was just looking at the pics again. I wonder where they were taken. I doubt the owner is up on roller bladeing.

Hi Crab tree. The pics were taken at the foster home. Thank you for your interest however I have just been informed he has been adopted! Are you looking for a GSD to add to your home?
