Should he be moved to the Urgent section?

Thanks for moving him. It's where he belongs.

He has been treated for fleas and for worms. His stool is clear. and he is eating so much so was probably just neglected and not even given the basics. You'd think that his owners would notice that he wasn't at the end of his cable anymore!

He's quick (too quick and snappy) to take treats but since he's so skinny it's probably just from lack of food and just wanting more. I asked about his time limit right now and it all depends on his health and adoptability. They'll do a heartworm test tomorrow and if it's positive may feel that he's unadoptable due to his age and medical. Tomorrow I'm going to see if they'll test him for food aggression.

He needs an angel to step in and give him a good life; a life that he probably has never had.

Good News for this boy.

He tested heartworm negative and the vet said he is really easy to handle. Went into his crate with ease, came out and sat for her when told. Let her draw blood without any fuss and went back in his crate when asked so a good boy to work with.

I did try him with a fake hand while he was eating and he did snap at it. I stroked his head, neck and muzzle with it while he continued to eat and he stopped a couple of times and curled his lip but then went back to eating (like he hadn't eaten before!).

He is adoptable so will be neutered and available to the right person that can work with him on his resource guarding. I'm pleased that he's going to get a chance at a better life than the one he's had.

it is, katieliz, but we were full when I left at noon and two dogs were leaving but I just checked the website and now three more have come in and dogs are already doubled-up in runs. I hope they give him the time he needs to find that special person.

Just wanted to update that he was neutered yesterday and today while there I took him through the cat room and he showed no interest at all in any of the cats. Also, walked around the dog room and he would stop and wag his tail at most all of them and ignore those that were barking at him.

We did have one caller interested in him but changed her mind when she learned of the food aggression.

Here are some photos showing his condition. The vet said he has severe flea allergies but is being treated.

Bump for this guy.

If anyone can help him or have any questions, please call the shelter as I am going to be gone for a couple of weeks and won't have access to the internet or phone.

We now have more dogs than runs with dogs sharing kennels and two small dogs in the office area. He needs to get out of there soon.

The shelter number is 517-546-2154

Thanks.
