We had our final session with the trainer/behaviorist last night and Kado is going to be put back on the website and listed again.
I don't think he'll ever be 100% "cured" but, like a lot of things, his problem can be managed and he can have a normal life. He's a lot better than when he came into rescue and I know everyone is going to be very picky as to where he ends up. Not sure if I'm happy or sad about his progress. I hate to see him go, we've really bonded over the past couple of months, but I'm happy at his progress. Just a few pics from the other day.

I'm especially interested in posts by fosters. When I retire, hopefully soon) I plan to foster. Wasn't aware that rescues had behaviorists. Is that unusual? What a great resource.
That is one terrific back yard you have there Was just thinking as I read thru your posts that I probably couldn't give him up.

another dog i've fallen in love with just from his pictures. i was a complete foster failure, only took one dog for me to learn my lesson. as i loose members of my current pack i will replace them with fosters tho, i will force myself to get better at letting them go...because the need is SO great. fosters are the backbone of rescue.

What a beautiful dog! Thank you for all that you're doing for Kado. I hope he finds the wonderful home he deserves.

It's been exactly two months since the last post and GREAT NEWS to share.
![]() Kado has been adopted!!!! ![]() He goes to his forever home this afternoon. Even better, the young lady that is taking him is a former MARS GSD foster and volunteer. She had to leave the rescue so she could finish school and she's been watching Kado for a couple of months and her and her husband have decided (a few weeks ago) to adopt Kado. He'll have two other dogs (lab/hound mixes) to play with and they're both females. Kado does much better with females so that's going to work out great for him. She's familiar with what we've been doing and is going to continue working with his toy guarding issues. I am so happy for him, he's going to have a great life now. (He's been getting pretty spoiled for the last week )Of all the dogs we've fostered, he's been here the longest and it's going to be super hard to not have him here with us any longer, but since he's only going to be an hour away, we can visit him.
