Default South Bend, IN 8 Yr old male (pulled from shelter)

South Bend Animal Care & Control has an 8 yr old intact tan saddle-back male with a super personality who needs help. Colton's owner surrendered him because she lost her home and the dog's overall appearance shows a general lack of care. He has inflamed skin (smells yeasty) and we'll be getting a skin scraping done; the good news is he's HW negative. He's a sweetie with people and nice with other dogs (even little ones) and carried on like baby while we were trimming his horribly overgrown nails, but never showed any kind of aggression. Colton weighs 89 pounds. Transport assistance is available. SBACC phone # is 574-235-9303 ask for Gail or Kim.

Oh, he looks so gentle. If it comes down to it I could provide a temporary home, but I'm not set up for adding another dog to my family long-term. South Bend is about an hour from me.

He is a big softie and we're sure hoping he gets help soon. The SB shelter is very small, usually full, and very imited in resources. We were able to get skin scrapings looked at and are happy to know that his skin issue is not mange. We've been giving him baths with medicated shampoo and it's helping calm his skin. He seems to like being bathed much better than getting his nails trimmed.
