That dog isn't available for adoption until August 9th. There is another German Shepherd there (in the Elyria) pound who is going to be available for adoption on the 6th. Last time I went to the pound to look at a GSD-there were a bunch of people there to get him and they had a lottery to select the new owner. I wouldn't stress too much about it unless nobody comes and gets them the day that they become adoptable....but in Elyria-someone will probably adopt them. If not I will help spread the word because I live very close to there.

I don't think it's a good thing when a shelter decides who gets a dog based on a lottery. Most of the comments on this shelter have been negative and the dogs don;t have a lot of time here.

I don't like the lottery idea either but that is how it is there. I rescued my lab from this dog pound. I am a little concerned because there are now 3 German Shepherds there. The time when I went to get the GSD there was also a Doberman there and both of them were adopted the first day they were eligible for adoption (they hold strays for 3 days to see if the owner shows up). But both dogs were young.

I am going to start letting as many people know as possible around here (my area which is 20 minutes from the pound) about these 3 beautiful shepherds.
